Happy Veteran's Day. If they were showing the Arlington cemetery ceremony on TV, I sure missed it, but Canadian TV was showing Remembrance Day Ceremonies, which were quite lovely and made me a bit weepy. I wish we had a more interactive Veteran's ceremony: the Canadians let practically everyone lay something on the memorial in Ottawa, and there was a children's choir and a gun salute, and a religious sermon in French and English that was poignant without being cloying.

I wish we could do it more like the Canadians.
